The premise
I dont like how app switching works on macOS
⌘+tab is an app switcher, not a window switcher, which is great unless...
- You have multiple windows open for that app
- You like to see a preview of the app you're switching to
- You might want the thing your selecting to not be minimized, because why else were you selecting it?!
How it works
Altab lives in your menu bar and runs in the background
By default altab overrides ⌘+tab, you can choose from a few other options for bindings if you want and you can use the stock app switcher
alongside altab, or disable it. If you uninstall or quit altab, normal functionality of the stock app switcher is restored.
Optionally, you can give the app screen recording permissions, this lets it show window previews, no data at all is ever
sent from the app but if you decide not to allow screen recording, app icons will be shown instead :D
